Howard Wheeldon Comments: Boeing Looks To Make Big Splash At Paris Air Show - NorthWest Cable News Online
Boeing is showing off its new wing, engine and body designs on one of the world's most popular jetliners - designs which make the 747-8 the longest airliner in the world.
The second one, scheduled to take off from Everett Sunday night, is expected to be an even bigger hit. It will be the first jumbo jet to cross the Atlantic using a biofuel mixture in all its engines.
"This is the first significant, and I mean significant change to the aircraft. It is stretched, it goes further, and of course from a cargo point of view in particular, it's already been successful in terms of orders received,” said Howard Wheeldon, BGC Partners
Boeing is also showing off the Dreamliner at the air show, which traditionally becomes a corporate shootout between Boeing and Airbus as they try to out-do each other with big news.
