BGC Partners Hold First Annual Charity Day

New York – September 12, 2005 – BGC Partners, the worldwide brokerage firm operating in the global fixed income markets, announced today the launch of its first annual charity event.

Lee Amaitis, Chairman of BGC Partners, welcomed support from former New York Giants superstar Harry Carson, former New York Jets great, Boomer Esiason, and New York Yankees superstar Mariano Rivera at their New York offices today.

Mr. Carson, Mr. Esiason, and Mr. Rivera will man the phones at the inter-dealer broker which will donate all revenues to a number of charities including, CLIC Sargent, which supports children suffering from leukemia or cancer; charities chosen by clients – 20% of each client’s revenue will be donated to their nominated charity, and the Cantor Foundation, which will distribute to charities it supports including the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and the Euro Brokers Relief Fund.

Lee Amaitis, Chairman of BGC Partners said, “We are delighted that these New York sports legends are taking time out to support this event and we are also extremely grateful to our clients who have embraced the spirit of what we hope will be a great day in the pursuit of helping those in need.”

The Euro Brokers Relief Fund has been established as a charitable organization for the purpose of providing financial assistance to the families of (and others economically dependent on) Euro Brokers staff and employees who were killed
in the World Trade Center terrorist attack.
