BGC Partners Raises Over $8 Million On Fourth Annual Global Charity Trading Day

Stars of sport, film, television and music help to raise money for charities around the world. Total raised for charity over four years tops $23 million

 LONDON and NEW YORK, (September 15, 2008) – BGC Partners, Inc. (Nasdaq: BGCP), one of the world’s leading inter-dealer brokers, announced today that it raised over $8 million for charity on its highly successful Fourth Annual Global Charity Day held on Thursday, 11September 2008, bringing the total over four years to more than $23 million.

The London event was supported by over 120 guests including HRH The Prince of Wales, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, movies stars Kevin Spacey, Joseph Fiennes and Rosamunde Pike and Olympic gold medallists Ben Ainslie, James DeGale and Rebecca Romero (please see full guest list attached). Guests helped to raise money by assisting BGC brokers with multi-million dollar deals on the trading floor.

In New York, BGC was supported by guests including Mayor Michael Bloomberg, TV personality Regis Philbin, Hollywood stars Steve Buscemi, Matthew Modine and Eli Wallach, business magnate Donald Trump and a host of sporting legends including Boomer Esiason, who hosted his radio show live from BGC’s broking floor, former New York Giant Tiki Barber and NHL stars Scott Gomez and Sean Avery.

The Paris office welcomed Michel Hidalgo, Jean-Pierre Beltoise and a host of TV personalities, singers and comedians.

Across Asia and Australia, Cathy Lee, Steve Dawson, Paula Malai Ali, Eileen Tan, Cassandra See, Constance Song, Jodhi Meares and Shane Warne visited BGC offices to lend their support to the day.

Revenues from the day will be donated to a number of charities around the world. In the UK these include The Alder Hey Imagine Appeal, The Anthony Nolan Trust, Barnardo’s, Breast Cancer Care, Cruse Bereavement Care, DEBRA, The Jodie Kidd Foundation, The Marina Dalglish Appeal, Multiple Sclerosis, NSPCC Childline, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, The Paul Hunter Foundation, The Prince’s Trust, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, Richard House Children’s Hospital, St Paul’s Cathedral Foundation, Scope, Sparks, The Willow Foundation and The Variety Club.

In the US charities include Baby Buggy, The Boomer Esiason Foundation, The Children’s Institute, Ice Hockey in Harlem, Jubilee Center, Mercy Center, National Down Syndrome Society, Project Find, Quality Services for the Autism Community, The Valerie Fund, Wounded Warrior Project.
